Diabetes drug Byetta tied to kidney problems, says FDA

People with type 2 diabetes who are taking the blood-sugar-lowering drug Byetta may be at increased risk for kidney problems, including kidney failure, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration reported this week.

I've been taking Byetta now for about 6 months. Getting sick has been a regular thing with this injection. But instead of it getting better, it's gotten worse. After I hard the warning I discontinued taking the injection. I've been feeling much better since then.

After reading the article, it sounds like for me, personally, Byetta would not be good for me, having been on Dialysis and then come off, but with lowered kidney function. I had been considering asking my Drs about Byetta, but no longer.
