You found out you have diabetes, high blood pressure or cancer and you really need nutrition and diet information but don’t know where to turn.
You’ve had a heart attack and don’t want another one.
You’re tired of reading conflicting news stories about nutrition and don’t know who to trust for the straight story about about what you should or shouldn’t eat.

My doctor referred me to diet counseling in the first month after my diagnoses. It made such an impact on my awareness around nutrtional needs. I had established some good habits over the years, but not good enough… being able to discuss your needs with a trained professional is essential in myth busting around food choices… We have much to reclaim in taking our power back… education is essential… thanks for sharing another great article Avera… hugs, Jocelyn

Thank you for this report!! I did not know there was a difference. Now I do, and so does many others. I guess, I just lucked out, and was sent to Dietitian. Thanks again, Avera.

I too just learned the difference between a dietitian and nutritionist. I have the priveledge of meeting with my dietitian RD next week. I am looking forward to what she can do to help me out. She has been a big part of our TCOYD classes that I am posting. This is a great article to help guide us in asking the right questions of our doctor to get us set up to visit one.

This arttical has been of great help to me. I have been a diabetic for only a short time and my doctor has not recomended any of these professionals to help me. This gave me a lot to look at.
