Are you a scientific anomaly like me? Have you or someone you know reversed the complications associated with diabetes? Did you suffer microvascular and macrovascular damage during the “growing pains” of coming to terms with having no choice but to live your life with diabetes? Then, did you turn around and find love and hope, which made you change your life? And after changing it, did you find after several years that you were healing the damage that you had incurred by your own misguided hand?

Well, I did and I am looking for others! I want to encourage people to share their stories in the hope that we can generate sufficient anecdotal information that will demonstrate sufficient cause for a rigorous study to scientifically prove that we can reverse complications associated with diabetes!

Greetings!
I would like to thank all of those who have commented the article I wrote. If you have specific questions or would like to learn more please feel to reach-out to me.
BTW, the good news keeps coming; my microalbumin creatinine ratio (normal <30 mcg/mg) went from 1456 mcg/mg in 1996 to the latest result, drum roll please… 13 mcg/mg! I am thrilled and determined as ever to get the word out about reversing diabetes complications. Our Diabetes Community needs and deserves HOPE!!! Let's share our successes as well as our challenges. I know that I am not alone, just ask my mentee Angie!

I've always figured that with diabetes once a problem arises it is too late to fix it, all I can do is try to not let it progress any further.

As I read this article, I found myself searching for what she did to reverse much of her damage. It sounds like she met the love of her life, found meaning to love herself more and change her self defeating habits. Tobacco and alcohol are two big offenders to any existing disease but for the sake of this forum, especially diabetes. Smoking is probably worse than chronic booze guzzeling, but booze is made with sugar. Not just the sweet liquers but the hard fire waters like gin, vodka and the not so hard stuff, beer and wine. When an alcoholic goes through withdrawalmuch of his shakiness is the sugar as well as the alcohol leaving his/her body. So when anyone stops abusing themselves like that, improvements are bound to happen. She said she had lasor treatments for her eyes, Thats been around for years. My father, also a diabetic, was told by his doctors that he was going to lose his sight. He had those treatments and his eyesight improved. He never lost his sight. I think love with the right person can do amazing things. It's proven that human touch has healing properties.
I found it especially interesting that they could take unhealthy kidneys from a diabetic and put them in a healthy body and they become healthy again. It makes me think we don't need kidney donars if we could swap out one kidney at a time with healthy people. I guess I'd realley like to see cloning happen so we can harvest healthy kidneys. Acceptance of certain people is the key because we know it's not science fiction any more.
