Hi, I'm Amy.

I'm sure you're here because diabetes has touched your life.
That's why I'm here too.

You see, after the birth of my third daughter, I was delighted at how quickly I was losing weight. But even as I found that my favorite jeans fit me again, I knew something wasn't quite right. I was so thirsty all the time and my vision was sporadically blurry.

Finally, I went to see the doctor. You probably know how shocking it is to receive a phone call that tells you to get to the hospital right away or you might fall into a coma. I was 37 and had been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.

Finger pricks, insulin injections, constantly worrying about food and exercise—these are the life of a diabetic. And now they were my life.

Since then I've tried to find ways to connect with, learn from, and share the best information with other diabetics and their friends and families. That's why I got involved with Diabetic Connect. I hope you'll come here often to find friends, support, information, and answers to help you feel a lot less alone and a lot less frustrated about living with diabetes.

So take a look around the community and let me know if there's anything I can do to help you.

Amy
