I just have to share this little victory! I have been trying to loose weight since before Christmas last year and it just wasn't coming off. In fact, I GAINED weight. I tried counting my calories. My boyfriend got me what I wanted for Christmas, a Wii Fat. Oops I mean a Wii Fit. Not any weightloss just gain. I started getting up really early every morning and getting on the treadmill.
At first I was walking a quarter mile and jogging a quarter mile, repeating this for 30 minutes or so and ending with a cool down walk of a quarter mile. I have gradually upped the jogging portion and decreased the walking. I am currently doing a quarter mile walk, three quarter mile jog, quarter mile walk, three quarter mile jog and finishing with a quarter mile walk. I also do 50 sit ups.
During the initial work out stages, I was losing weight but not much and then I was putting some of what I lost back on.
Then the doctor changed my diet to control my hypoglycemia…
I have hit the 15 pound mark!
WOO HOO!!!!!!!

That is fantastic to hear! What did your doctor change in your diet? I love my treadmill! Best thing I've done!

Well, my old diet wasn't really a diet I suppose. I still had the sugar, a lot of carbs and all that wonderful goodness that I now don't get to enjoy. I started having problems, where about 30 minutes to an hour after eating I would get really dizzy and shakey. He told me I was hypoglycemic (with out a finger stick mind you. My numbers from my last blood test were so close he was waiting for the day that I called.) So he told me to try eating like a diabetic should. He wanted me to see a nutritionist but my insurance wouldn't pay for it. So I am doing it with all of your help, ideas and encouragement.

That is something to crow about! What I love is your persistence. I know I tend to give up too soon after a few failures. You are an inspiration to us all to keep on doing what we know to be best for us.

Sometimes when my persistence isn't working that morning and I need a little help there is this foot that plants itself on my backside and I have the choice of getting up on my own or falling on the floor… LOL You can do it!

Thanks! My mom and both sets of grandparents are diabetic. My doc did the change in my diet not only to control the hypoglycemia but to hopefully hold off the diagnosis of diabetes a little longer. My grandmother had hypoglycemia first and later in life was diagnosed with diabetes.
Good luck with your weightloss and let me know if you need any suggestions or just another cheerleader!
