There are some meds that might help. Have you talked to your dr about any of them? I take Gabapentin, which is the generic form of neurotin. It works for me.

Hi Sprat:
I am so sorry that you have to live with such a painful condition. I also have neuropathy but from a car accident and not from diabetes. It is a terrible burning pain that is almost constant.
Chronic pain changes who we are as human beings. It changes the direction of our lives. But there is hope out there in our future. I believe it.
We all have to find our way to learning how to cope with chronic pain. I for one found help with a pain management doctor and was lucky to find a good clinic connected to a university. When I moved back to Georgia it took three years to find another pain management clinic but back on track.
I also went to a cognitive behavioral therapist who taught me some skills to take the focus off pain. I can't explain exactly what she did but it worked. She guided me to making healthier choices such as realizing there are things I can do that really takes the focus off pain like art and helping others.
I hope you do well with it and find the right balance to diminish your pain.
Gentle hugs,
Nancy Ann
