Caution with Croc's

Many of us love our Croc's. I know I do. It was the first shoe that was comfortable on my feet in a very long time. I wear mine every day. I am not posting this to stop you from wearing them, just helping you live healthier in them.
Here are a couple of things I have learned the hard way about my beloved croc's.
1. They hydroplane! On rainy days, if your souls are well worn (as mine are) walking in a cross walk you should avoid the painted strips…you will end up on your behind in a flash!
2. While you might think they are good for gardening, you will never have white socks again. If you don't wear socks, well you might never have clean toes again. Though it is kind of goofy that you can take a shower with your shoes on. =)
3. They are not safe around Cactus. I had a cactus thorn go thru my croc and into the arch of my foot this week. I didn't realize it until I felt a bruise type of feeling and my husband found the broken piece in my foot and shoe. (another reason you check your feet every day)

ptsparkle April 1, 2010 at 5:070 LikesI have several pair, and love them. Ditto on the wet surfaces. I wear mine in the swimming pool as water socks are too hard to get on now. I have a very distinct suntan pattern on the tops of my feet, which gets some raised eyebrows with Drs. who first see them. I tell them it is a new fungus.lol.

MAYS April 1, 2010 at 1:251 LikeAny shoes that do not have a semi flexible arch are harmful to the feet of diabetics and others who have foot problems, the biggest issue for diabetics is the dropping of your arch will not only be painful due to your bones shifting is the possibility of developing charcot's foot if you are not maintaining proper glucose levels, get the right shoes even if it means ditch the croc's and any other shoes that are not made for diabetics.
