go to a doctor right away.those readings sound very high.in the meantime you could test your meter.if you don't know how, call the manufacturer.they will tell you how to test it.good luck and GOD bless you.

A reading of 600 sounds pretty high for Type 2?

I would try to see a doctor if I were you, staying at these levels so constantly is not healthy! Also, exercising with blood sugars that high can be more harmful than good. If you are that high so much there is a good chance that you have Ketones, you can get test strips from a pharmacy to do your own test, but, either way, I would recommend getting in touch with a doctor! You may need to be checked for Type 1…

You will be in my prayers…Update us on how you're doing when you can!

Are you sure you are a type 2? That is a dangerous high and if you are doing all those activities you need to find some way to get that lower and soon. I don't mean to alarm you, but damage is really happening at those levels. I would immediately see your doctor (before you end up in the hospital) and explain what you are doing and ask why you are still so high?

Now, I would be recording exactly what you are eating, when you are eating it, when you take your meds and what kind and how long you exercise. You might find some pattern that is causing your spikes. Exercise can cause your numbers to rise, specially if you are starting high. It is not recommended to exercise if you have a reading over 300, so your exercise may be hurting more than helping if you are high to begin with.

Perhaps you are not using your insulin properly. Did your doctor teach you how to use it and what tools you use to calculate your doses?

Have you met with a nutritionist? A diabetes educator? These people can also help you find tune your diet and teach you to make good choices. Sometimes we think we are making a good choice, but once we find out the truth about certain foods, we find we have been mistaken.

I am sorry that I did not find your post earlier. I hope you are having better control now, but if not…please call your doctor. I will keep you in my prayers. I know how hard it can be when you are so out of wack to even care.

Last year I was diagnosed with fasting blood sugar of 366 and an A1C of 14.1. I started to drink 8+ glasses of water per day and started to eat lots of low carb vegetables everyday. My numbers dropped a lot in less than one month.

I wrote how I control my blood sugar here. Click on the link below.

PS. If your drinking lots of water and eating lots of vegetables and cut out a lot of the starchy carbs in your diet and your numbers are still not controllable, it may be time to talk with your doctor and see about taking insulin.

I’m lucky that I stopped eating all bread, pasta, chips, potatoes, corn, peas and most foods that contained more than 5-6 net carbs per serving and my blood sugar kept getting better and better. My last A1C was 5.4 and my blood sugar is normal most of the time.

    Good luck

Hang in there. It will take time to get things under the tight control you seem to be after. I'm on 80 Lantus (am) and 25 Novolog PLUS sliding scale, before breakfast: 30 Novolog plus sliding scale, before lunch: 20 Novolog plus sliding scale, before supper; 80 lantus, bedtime. My sugars are coming down. Another 3 months ought to bring them down to where I can reduce a dosage of something. Keep on trying. Things WILL improve (or you'll get used to it).
