Danni update, update

Oh my gosh! I've been gone too long!!! Danni is def in my prayers, I read the other thread as well and my heart just goes out to her =( She is def in my thoughts and prayers tonight and for as long as she needs them!

I've been away from DC all weekend. Any updates on Danni? I hope she is improving!

God helped Danni through her ulcer surgery, not all was as we thought, but may God continue to lead her thru "the valley" and learn to be a truthful Angel. Amen. Pat Roth

Danni woke up! Jess just called; she got a call from the nurse with the good news! She moved her fingers and indicated that she heard the nurse speak to her-Hallelujah! Thank you Father!

Have been gone all day. Thank you Renee for the updates, especially the last one. That is good news and a good sign. The Lord is merciful. Bless you also for your friendship and communication with Danni.

Hello Everyone. It has been a rough night. To recap, Danni's sister, Jess called me a little after 1am in a panic, thinking I was another Renee that lives near Danni's mom. She needed me to go wake her mom up and let her know Danni went into shock, causing her heart to stop, and they were rushing her into surgery. Once she realized I wasn't the Renee she needed, I let her go to make that phone call and I called Suze for help. I did make Jess promise to call me with any news, good or bad. You know how the story goes from here.

Jess called be a little after 8am. Danni came out of surgery about 4am and has been in a coma ever since. According to Jess, Dr. V is not significantly concerned about this turn of events, but is mighty frustrated.

Jess is home now but will be returning to the hospital this evening. Their mother and g'mother are to arrive late afternoon or early evening.

I told Jess to please tell Danni how very much we all love her and are praying for her recovery. She did. Danni is alive and we will find our strength in this! Lots of Love, Renee

Wow, That's alot to grip but I will be praying for her also…

The hospital will need to be very vigilant because of Danni's diabetes and as well her immune system is not the best so she is most susceptible to infections. Angels are with her and will protect her.

Hi all

Touched base with Pam early Wed morning, then Roy a bit later. Spoke to Danni in the morning before I left for work, and again for a bit when I left work to check in and see how she was doing. She said she was ok and we talked some nonsense, but she said doc thinks she will be home around Easter and chemo should start about a week later. Ran a few errands, and got home about 9p PST. Around 10p, Renee called (dietcherry). She had a rather disturbing call from Danni's sister, Jessica (who sounds SO much like Danni)…who thought our Renee was another friend of Danni's who lives near their mom. To make the story shorter, Jessie said they needed the crash cart to resuscitate Danni, and they took her for an emergency surgery…and she wanted Renee to get mom and bring her to the hospital. Well, our Renee had been asleep in NC, not down the road in GA, so when Jessie realized the mistake she apologized and told her she would call the other Renee and not to worry. Easier said than done. Looking at the clock, Renee did the only thing she could think of, call me, the night owl on PST.

Together Renee and I decided I would try to call the hospital…and I took the first stab. After 3 tries I gave up and called Renee cause the calls would not complete for me, I could hear the operator, but the operator could not hear me and would hang up. So, I gave Renee the # and she called. Seems Danni was not at that hospital…our sweet child did not want us to send anything there, or to call…so, Renee got the numbers of the 2 other hospitals there, and she took one and I took the other. I had tried Danni's phone, and left a message, and just before I could call my hospital, Jessie returned my call to Danni.

Jessie told me the call to Renee was a mistake and wanted to apologize and I assured her Renee and I were very happy she did cuz we wanted to know how our baby was, as did all of you. She said that yes, they needed the crash cart to resuscitate her…seems she developed an allergic reaction to something in or around the stomach and stitches (Renee will probably clarify this after she talks to Jessie), and she had to go back to surgery to clean up the infection, but assured me Danni is ok, and she will be there all nite. And, I assured her I would be available to call if she needed me til about 7a EST.

Next update will most likely be Renee…

It is good that she was pulled from the brink. Praise the Lord.

oh man. im glad she's okay. that sounds like a pretty serious allergic reaction. time to send in some more prayers for her.

I'll keep praying for Danni. She's going to get restless as she feels better but, given her delicate condition, she needs all the care she can get right now. The doctors will have to treat that infection very aggressively.

I hope she's OK! my thoughts are definitely with her.

Hey Everyone-just got off the phone with Danni-she sounds good and is in (mostly) no pain. Her surgeon will be in tomorrow to talk to her about what he found and what all he did. He did put a port in for chemo and she will be out of ICU in a couple of days. I told her how fantastic you all are and all the love, prayers, and support you have continued to send throughout the day. She sends her love and thanks to all! Renee :)

Oh, Renee! Thanks for keeping us all up to date. SO happy to hear the good news! The sun just came out - even tho it's a cloudy day! :)

Praise the Lord for being WITH our Danni during her surgery! I have often heard that if a person can be hopeful and reassurred BEFORE a surgery, they will come through it more successfully, and our Danni sure had all of our prayers and well wishes encircling her, preventing from falling completely into that abyss—which our sweetie thought was "Cool"! I am totally amazed she is texting after gastric surgery…Thats pretty intense surgery and usually major recovery time..I think all the prayers must have done some work! I am very very relieved that it all went well and very thankful too…She deserves nothing but a full and spectacular recovery…looks like you've all helped light the way…

I just got home from work and am heading to bed…soooo much nausea today…but I just needed to check in first and make sure she is doing well…

Our girl did ok! Renee called me about 10a to say she is out of surgery and doing awesome. Her sister, I think it was Jessica, called her, then Danni text her. Then Danni called me about an hour later to tell me she was ok as well. Said she text Roy too. Blood pressure got low at 1 point, and she said she was “flat-line”, but she came right back and is doing well. Will talk to her tonite, when her minutes are free. DC family did a fantastic job…keep the prayers and thoughts and vibes coming.

Wonderful!!! My heart feels lighter knowing that our Danni came thru her risky surgery "just fine—-" snapped back after that "flat line"—scary——But she is a strong, loving young woman, so God had a help in this miracle! And she is already texting??!! cheeczzz—-haha—PR

Danni just texted me! She is doing great and commented that they almost lost her and wasn't that cool! Still woozy from the anesthesia, huh? LOL She thanked everyone for their prayers and wanted all to know how much it means to her! She said she is passing out now but will be in touch later! She made it!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't heard anything yet, Jeannie. Danni told me that her sister would have her phone and would text a bunch of us and let us know how it went. Don't know about the rest of you, but I felt the power that moves mountain this morning!!! Renee :)

Her sister said she was acting like a dork, she will call me, said she didn't want to leave her until somebody else got there, said they almost lost her. Will tell you more when she calls me.

Yea, I felt it too. Gave me goose bumps. I sure hope if I'm faced with something like this you all will pray for me. It's powerful stuff!!!

We are FAMILY, we look out for each other in times of need.

Hi all

Talked to Danni for about an hour as I drove home from work, and she helped my while I picked up a few things in the grocery store. Her spirits were good, maybe a little "high" from meds, but ok. She said my shopping was making her hungry, but she can't have anything by mouth now. I promised to call her in about an hour before her surgery.

All your love and prayers and posts lift her spirits and we are her family. I will copy this for her, as she is sposed to get her mom's laptop, maybe Fri, and it will give her something to read and smile over.

Prayers at 6am EST, right? 5a CST, and 3a PST. Mountain, you are on your own.
