Hi everyone,
I have had a migraine since last Fri. so I am going to try and make this quick.
I went to my neurologist for follow up on my seizures and seizure meds and asked her for a refill on my headache meds. She said no and to go to my primary dr for that. My primary has said to ask my neurologist cuz its a brain related problem. I am feeling a bit ticked off. I waited 3 hrs. to see that dr and she only spent 5 min. with me. Now is there a slight problem with this arithmatic or what?

I'm so sorry Turtle. Been there done that. It does not make since to me why these doctors can not communicate with each other. Especially since most of the time your primary doctor referred you to the neurologist or specialist. I feel for you I live in Virginia and the storms and atmospheric pressure have been changing so much that I have had a Migraine since last wednesday and spent sunday i the ER with my blood pressure bottomed out. Do you see a correlation between your seizures and migraines?
I pray you feel better soon. -

Turtle,
Good for you! Yeah either doctor could have given that to you. I don't understand the huge deal with doctors sometimes, ignoring their patients needs. Anyhow, you got it…glad to hear.
Karen,
Heard a little something about that medication you wipe on your forehead, wondered cuz I also suffer for headaches/megranes…sometimes my meds are just not enough. I think I will look into that stuff to. THanks! Hugs to both of you!!! Sheila -

Thank you for your support everyone. My primary ordered the med finally. It is Maxalt 10. It goes under your tongue and is absorbed fast. I usually do not need a second dose in an hour. I take the med and quiet myself and pray for healing. I do not have any negative side effects. It just helps my headache.

Hey Turtle,
Sorry you are having this struggle. Funny how Drs. mqake you wait for hrs., and then only want to get you out of the office as soon as they can. You need to have those two Drs. communicate with each other. Looks they are playing the "pass the buck" game. Hope you can get this resolved real soon. I agree with the previous posters. Good luck, and try to stay positive.

Your right Harlen, that's how I have to do my doctor which I've had over 22 years, they know what they are suppose to do at this point. I too have a strange little headache every now and then, which I will bring up to my doctor on my follow in Dec.

Doctors are NOT gods. They are someone YOU HIRE to perform a service. You have the right to ask questions and voice an opinion! Did one of them right the original prescription? Out of curiosity what was it and did it work? Yes I have migraines too since age 12. Your time is valuable too. If there is not an emergency then I would have left.

Oh Turtle, been there, done that. I went into my Doctor and he told me if I wanted to talk more I would have to make another appointment. Sometimes I feel like switching doctors but get scared because he has me on soo many meds. If you find a cure for this silliness PLEASE let me know :)
I hope you get to feeling better! -

What an interesting name you picked! It symbolizes long life! Anyway…I get migraines but no seizures. I use the little tube of stuff called Head On. It works for some but it definitely worked for me. No after affects or conflict with my meds. Just swipe it twice across my forehead in two lines and darned if the migraine doesn't disappear within 15 min. All I know is…it worked for me!

I have migraines also. My doctor gave me yet more pills for it but they had me so sick that I just started taking some over the counter medicine for it. I was reading the side effects of some of the stuff that I am already on and most of it causes headaches.

I wonder if dabbing a little Biofreeze on your temples and the back of your neck might help? H-m-m-m. MY mom told me to try Vicks on my temples for trigeminal neuritis. I have Head on. Guess I will be experimenting .

Before my doctor visit I write down everything I want to know and I do not let the doctor side track me. I think you have mentioned before that you are not satisfied with your doc. Do not let the amount of meds you are taking keep you from going elswhere! Maybe you do not need them all?
