I'm fishing...I suspect this is the cause of my seizures...I have come to put together I have a hypoglycemic seizure at the end of receiving Iron Infusion I.V. therapy...Is there anyone experiencing the same?

My mom is a T2 and take blood transfusions from time to time because of low blood platelets and low iron and just about low everything else that has to do with blood.
Its hard on her control as she cant take her pills the morning of a treatment because of the new blood comming in. She doesnt have seizures but it will be somthing I will be looking for going forth. Good luck and I hope you get that under control.

Seizure is a severe side effect listed with one product for IV iron infusion. What is doctor saying?

Ok well this is where my fustration comes in...I've been in treatment with the hematologist for the hemaglobin...In treatment with the Endocrinologist for diabetes as always and well controlled...and in treatment with a neurologist since the seizures...Only one putting them together is ME!...While sugar increases and then hypoglycemia are side effects of the infusions they are not considered seizure inducing...I however, am a severely reactive hypoglycemic...so...I feel like its different for me...Only after seizure #2 did I put together the timing of it...They are at the end of a 12 week round of treatments...and they are BIG seizures...My neurologist also cannot confirm nor deny my opinion that my seizure is hypo related...I feel them coming, i know the symptoms of lows, its just too fast...yanno?...Nobody is listening!...Just recently started another round of infusions with another mix BUT they are all sugar based infusions...I stopped tx after day one because my sugars were up to 400 3 days...what goes up comes down hard...They cant seem to control me during it and they wont seem to connect it for a new treatment option...Its like i need it, but at what expense?...I'm fustrated!...Anyway...I may move on to a university hospital in Chicago or the Mayo for a more In-Tune specialist that will help me with all 3 complaints that I still believe are completely connected!...GRRRR!! Thx for the kind words!

PS...my seizure is not like on the side effects listed for the infusion as an allergic reaction...My seizures are hypoglycemic in nature...so indirectly caused by the infusion..see?...The infusions are dextran, sucrose, etc based...so very high glucose...it rockets me up and where I am a reactive hypoglycemic I crash and seizure...I feel like I shouldn't have to be trying to explain this to them...after one tx this monday my glucose has not been below 250 the last 3 days, and at times is near 400...needless to say I am feeling like crap and afraid of the impending drop...I have stopped tx to not aggrivate the whole process for another 8 weeks of tx as they want to do...I dont recieve just one treatment...is usually a couple times a week for an 8-10 week period...and the seizure only comes at the very end of that roller coaster...

Ok we have a partial confirmation...I may be headed to Mayo to figure out how to get around this little problem of getting what I need without the effect I dont...Thx everyone...
