Oh yes!! It was a terrible thing, hot baths hot showers, nothing seemed to help, It comes and goes sometimes, but lately since I've been doing exercise I've been fine.

I've had low back pain since I was in my early 20s. I tried every medical treatment short of surgery, because my problem is I know enough that the pain usually persists even after surgery. I now have a spinal cord stimulator, will be 4 years close to Christmas, and it has relieved 40 to 50% of my pain, sometimes 100%. It's implanted.

I have back issues. Sweething I have had a spinal cord stimulator for a year now and it does nothing but make my life miserable. I even lost my job because of it. I am so glad that someone benefits from one. I won't have the fusion surgery.

Sorry, but I just have to ask how the stimulator could cause you to lose your job? And what kind do you have?

Oh yeah! I'm 29 with arthritis in my spine and degenerative disc disease. I'm too young for any kind of surgery.

I have had degenerative disc disease in my L5 disc since 2000 when I had back surgery that was very bad.
For the last year I had the Fentanyl Transdermal System first 25 mg and then 4 mo's ago upped to 50 mg. I have had bad dizzy spells for over 2 weeks and then 3 days ago in the early morning, about 2 am I was up to pee and I blacked out and fall down. And lot of scarps and bursars. My caregiver called Dr. And he took me off the patch said that is a very series side effect. Now I'm hurting allot. Cara

Yes I have lower back pain even with the fusion surgery I had several years ago. It seemed to help at first but has gotten worse.

I to have lots of pain. My main back pain is in the upper thoracic. Righ between my shoulder blades. About 20 years ago I was working in a public school system with Willie M children. In case you don't have that designation in you schools they are emotionally challenged and can be violent. I wasn't told I had to have special physical training to know how to protect myself or control them nor was I told I couldn't be alone with them or take them any place by myself. Well I was taking them to the bathroom ( we had to go outside and around the building) and on of the students either kicked me or punched me, knocked me unconcious for I don't know how long and separated my rib from my spine. During a teacher workday it was decided by the powers that be it was my fault because I wasn't aware of these "rules".

At any rate I haaven't found a pill or a medical device that helps alleviate the pain and it is constant.

I was considering the spinalimplant ( just considering it) but I'm still not sure.

I don't know if anyone is having problems with dry skin or not. Inever have always just the opposite but now dry reigns supreme. Found something really good and cheap. Crisco shortening. Just put it on over damps skin and rub it in. Not the least bit greasy and works better than anything I have tried so far.

pjeckert replied November 11, 2009 2:33 AM

Are you serious about the Crisco? Is that the white stuff or the stuff in pour bottles?
You know I could say something about the Crisco thing, but I won't do that to you.....just think about it, yep your thinking what I'm thinking, aren't you?
Hi girl:
Hugs and kisses

I know it sounds crazy but it wors!!! I watch Dr. Oz at night and he said it was one of the best things we could use. Well nut thaat I am I tried it and does it ever work. It's the hard stuff in the can Pam. Up UP Up we go
But in all seriousness just dampen your skin and rub some in. It's not the least bit greasy and I don't have to do it umpteen times a day. Works like a charm o my feet to. Calluses dry heels gone this morning. And there is no odor.
