I am also Type 1 diabetic. I loose a lot of hair as well. My diabetes is not controlled well at all. But my doctor feels that my hair loss is due to my hypothyroidism or stress. Maybe have your thyroid checked. Best of luck |

Jude, wigs work great! Think of the fun you will have being a red head, blond or burnette...all in one week! Go funky in blue, green, pink, silver...have fun, kick up your heels, and ALWAYS HAVE A GREAT HAIR DAY! Only takes a few minutes too...cuts down on getting ready to go anywhere! Hugs |

Well my hair comes out different times of the year it sheds, especially when Im under a lot of stress my sides thin out terribly but I also have a thyroid problem too. But hang in their don't give up on your hair when your least worried about it, it will start to grow back and fill in. Worry more about keeping your diabetes under control and your hair will take care of it self. I always play saying, "If I only have one strand of hair Im gonna curl it and look good." |
I am recently diagnosed with type 1 and in the last 6 months I have lost loads of hair, to the point where I don't go out. My Doc said it is a symptom of untreated type 1. Will it grow back now that I am on insulin?
