Just wanted to know what type of meters do people use, and what is the best one. I use the Bionime meter GM300 and so far i like it but it is hard to find the test strips where i am at. I have to order them online.

I use the Accu check avaiva and really like it. No problems getting strips at all.

I use ultra mini FreeStyle Lite and love it! I never heard of what you are using though myself. Is it a newer one? Could also be why strips are more expensive. *shrug* And welcome to the site by the way! Hugs! Sheila

The Bionime meter is very new. I do like using this because it keeps my highs and lows stored and gives me my averages for daily, weekly, bi-weekly and monthly. The strips are hard to find in my town but they can be ordered off the internet at www.bionime.com. I am thinking about getting another meter so incase i run out of strips or get low for my Bionime meter, i can just run to my local walmart or drug store and get strips for my back up meter.
Thank you for your reply's. Christopher

Just so you are aware most meters keep track of your highs and lows, and averages....so maybe a different meter would not be so bad? Good luck! Hugs! Sheila

Walmart's Relion meter and strips are the best deal going if you have to pay out of pocket.

When i was paying out of pocket i found that walgreens True test meter was inexpensive and the strips were pretty reaonsble too. Now I have Kaiser Permanente and the only meters and strips they carry locally are one touch ultras. I don't know what the meters or strips would be out of pocket.

Thank you for your input on this matter. I do believe i am going to go and get a new one tomorrow. I do pay out of the pocket, so i am gonna go with with good money can buy from walmart. I just know with my Bionime meter it is hard to get the strips and i dont much like ording things online. I hope you have agreat weekend and speak soon. Christopher
