I can't imagine being on only 30 grams of carbs a day:(. I wish I could be more help but off the top of my head I can't think of many things that would fit into your diet. Have you tried to make homemade vegetable soup to fill you up with the veggies that are super low in carbs? By the way, why are you so restricted?

Are you doing the Bernstein diet? It's a choice you need to make and 30g of carb a day is certainly going to help tremendously with blood sugar control but my philosophy is you manage diabetes to live not live to manage diabetes. That means you need to pick your battles and if you are always hungry and (assuming) not happy about it maybe it's time to discuss some different treatment options in order to eat a little more.

There is no reason you should be hungry, even under Dr. Bernstein's diet. If you are still hungry, you can certainly add some protein. Moreover, you should be having green carbos, like veggies. The white carbos, like potatoes, rice, bread, etc. are relatively empty calories. Moreover, they are addicting, and you will never feel satiated. Try a big bowl of salad with red wine vinegar and a little olive oli. There is no reason for a diabetic to be hungry and also enjoy a healthy diet.

Are you sure that is not supposed to be 30 simple carbs? My husband was told he should only eat 15 simple carbs per meal (bread, sugar, potatoes, pasta, rice) but can eat more complex carbs at the same time (veggies & fruit). It's been pretty manageable and when he sticks to it keeps his weight down and sugar too.

What diet are you on? Are you trying to do a rapid weight loss?

Google low carb recipes and try to find the site: recipes.sparkpeople.com Many of them are very low carbs - the highest one I copied for myself had 5 carbs but many were in the 1 - 2 carb range and appear to be very tasty. I can't wait to try some. Most are also low fat. Good luck.

Remember, most meat is zero or near zero carbs but that is going to get pretty boring. I suppose a broiled turkey breast with a salad could fill you without carbs.
