I just wanted to know if anyone could help me out, this is all so new to me with new eating habits also. After your've eaten dinner a few hours or so before bedtime Im seem to be hungry again. But I don't want to eat anything too heavy cause I don't want to over eat, or cause my blood sugar to be high in the mornings. What's a good snack for in between meals.

My snacks don't get planned so much as they "happen" but I find popcorn popped without fat, or the low fat microwave variety filling. 1 slice of low fat cheese and 4 soda crackers is a favorite of mine. If I am craving ice cream, fat free sugar free yogurt sometimes helps, as do sugar free popsicles.

I do various things for nighttime snack. Kinda depends on my mood. Most of the time I will drink an 8 ounce glass of 2% milk. (13 carbs). Have drank an 8 ounce glass of low sodium V-8 juice with 2 Triscuit crackers. Like the graham crackers and peanut butter, too.

Try string cheese, or a sugar free jello, or 1/2 graham cracker with peanut butter on it. If you go too long without eating, ie overnight from dinner the night before your body will produce more insulin and you will be higher in the morning. Also 1/2 c of sugar free pudding. Good luck and keep us posted on how you are doing.
