Thats great that you have a backup. Try to keep on walking as much and as long as you can. I thought of getting a scooter, but I dont want to come to rely on it yet. |

Good for you Turtle. Yes, keep walking but use this for new found freedom to try out new things at your new environment. |

Turtle, Don't forget to watch for posted speed limits, and be careful of Sunny's paws while you learn to master your chair!!! Enjoy your ride. Hugs
Turtle replied October 19, 2009 12:52 AM You all are so special and funny. Yes, I walk more than use my chair right now. I use my chair to try and get into town. I might use it more in the winter when I have to travel to appts. It might be warmer that way cuz I can put a little blanket on my lap.
Elrond replied November 1, 2009 10:22 AM Turtle, perhaps we should 'tweek' it a little. You know, a short block V-8 with headers and a turbo charger. We can chop and drop the body with some fuzzy dice for the rear-view mirror. All joking aside, that's great news. Use it in good health. |

Last edited 20 days ago I can't walk without the help of some one. I am an amputee. When I had a kidney transplant I was a left below the knee amputee. I had a stroke on my right side and lost all my muscle mass. It is 2 years later and finally learning how to walk with a cane ad help on my other side just to walk. Not a long distance I may add. Medicare denied me because I have use of my hands,,,Hows that..Unreal, I can't explain it..... Debe

jayabee52 replied November 2, 2009 4:53 AM You'd think that if ANYONE could get an electric WC it would be someone like you. BUMMER!
Elrond replied November 2, 2009 8:47 AM jayabee, a former girlfriend of mine had multiple sclerosis and we tried to get her a scooter from a couple of those places. All we got was the old run-around. I'm not saying that it's impossible but we finally gave up. |
Medicare paid for it and I did not have to pay anything! I still walk as much as I can but I cannot go far so this great new chair gives me freedom. I hope anyone that needs a chair can get one as easily as I did.
