Kellyann317 replied October 12, 2009 1:11 PM Thank you- i will try and get the book. I am just scared because I never thought it could happen to me. You know you ask your doctor things but after awhile they look at you like just deal with it already so I get afraid to ask things

I tell everyone about the book "Reversing Diabetes" by Julian Whittaker. It's loaded with easy-to-understand information, TONS of info on eating foods that will work for you, and insights on exercise, medications and vitamins that your doctor will never tell you. It's for sale in the BOOKS section here and on Amazon for about $14. Well worth it!
Kellyann317 replied October 13, 2009 6:52 PM thank you. I will buy it. I need all the help I can get |

Another place you can get good information is to Google the Glycemic Index. It gives you foods in various levels that can raise your sugar level and the higher the level the more you have to eat in moderation. Many of the recipes in this site are also very helpful. do not cut carbs out completely but be more vigilant about them. Also cut out white: sugar, potatoes, rice, bread, etc and replace them with whole grains and so forth. good luck and keep us posted on your progress.
