I am a type 2 diabetic. At one time I was on Byetta twice a day. I lost my job and could not afford it or doctor visits. and now I have a job but no insurance. I was on Metformin but it gave me all of the side affects so that is when the Dr. put me on byetta. I liked it but could not afford it. So now if my sugar count was below 250 I would be happy. It ranges from 250 to 400 almost all the time. And I also go to the rest room at least 25 or more times a day. Is there any help I can get with my medications?

I am from WI. and this state has an insurance program of it's own. I am not a participant. Maybe the great state of Texas also has their own insurance program. You may also be able to talk your doctor into giving you samples... My endocrinologist gave me 100 test strips, an insulin pen and 4 vials of Lantus.... Because I told her, "I just retired and have NO insurance, yet." I now have insurance WIZ.

Thanks for the information. I have recently moved here to the San Marcos area and maybe in a couple of weeks I can afford to find a doctor here. Thanks

Check and see if your county has a free clinic that you can go to. Most couties have at least one hospital that is considered the county hospital for those who cant afford full health care.
Those numbers are high for a T2 to be daily.
Cut down on carbs. Eat more vegtables.
Cut out processed foods if you can.
I know carbs are cheaper to eat.
And in your case, its going to be hard to make your descisions on what to eat.
The bathroom visits is your bodies way of trying to flush out the sugars out of your system.
If this keeps up, you are going to have kidney trouble.
Your eye sight is going to be affected.
If you start to see starburts around break light on the cars in front of you, its a sign that your corneas are coated and you are starting to have issues with your eyes.
I hear you that you want to see a doctor and you want help, but please start looking into county clinics, free clinincs. Anything that you can do as to get the help you need.
Im praying for you.

Good luck.

You can also contact some of the companies that make insulin and they may help you. But yes check with free clinics in your area. Dan

Im not sure where you can check other than your county health dept. But I pray that you get what you need soon and be able to control your diabetes.
