Hi everyone. I was diagnosed in Aug '09 with Type 2. I have to admit, it scared the daylights out of me. The Dr says we caught it early…my A1c was 6.8. I have since lost 12 lbs by following the weight watcher program, being careful of carbs etc. I am not on medication but have just started testing. That seems to be going well. I had a higher reading yesterday morning and figured out it was the ww ice cream I ate the night before. So last night I just had yogurt. Better number this morning. I have read many many discussions on here and there is so much information. I thank you all for your honesty, your help and your support. Suzy

Way to go on cracking down! Sounds like you're mastering the ups and downs of watching your diet and weight very quickly. Good luck and keep it up! It really is easiest when you catch it so early!

LOL thanks. I guess it is just that it scared me. I am the first in my family to have diabetes. I know that my weight is a major factor. I also have fibromyalgia with a lot of depression, so my sedentary lifestyle is a contributor to this. I needed a kick in the pants, and this sure gave it to me!
