I have just been recently diagnosed—-I think (not sure) it is Type 2, doctor did not say over the phone when she gave me my lab results. She wanted me to take a diabetes management class, which I scheduled for next week. She wants to see me after 4 weeks. It has been 3 weeks since she told me and I am about to see her on 10/1.
She asked me to take my BG test before and after meal. I have noticed that my BG level before meal range between 135 to 180; the highest being in the morning before breakfast. After each meal, it goes down to a normal reading after meal…ranging from 130 to 154. There was even a time I started with 140 and after meail it was 106. I have cut down on white carb and been eating in small portions. I also try to walk everyday (3x a day/15mins each). Is my BG before meal high because I may be too hungry? I know I feel the hunger pangs at times.
By the way, I have noticed significant improvement whenI started cutting down on carbs and walking, during my first few days of testing my before meal was 170-205 and the after meals 210-297. Now it is what I mentioned above, but I am concerned mybefore meals are higher than after.
Please shed some light. I also plan to ask my doctor about it on my next appointment.
Thanks for your help everyone!
