Helping each other

I have found that there are many people on the net that are not completely aware of how to manage their diabetes and I am working on a web page to add to a chat that I belong to so that I can help those that visit that chat. If anyone has any ideas that may help me add and make sure that I get as much as I can to help as many people as I can educate themselves and share their stories or even make new friends that can help by giving them support when they need someone to lean on.

This site has been a godsend to me with my struggles over the last year. I sent a close friend here about 3 weeks ago and just reading the past discussions here helped a lot. Like Harlen said, why don't you just send them here?

Yeah, why don't you send them to this site? Where they could get a lot of help from others who have been where they are.

Yes this site does help and have many answers but does it teach you how many carbs or calories you should have to get to a weight that helps with type 2 diabetes. I understand that knowledge is great and I myself just found this site but I also have found that it is good to talk to an actual nutrienist helps someone set up a meal plan and get knoweledge that may not be found here on this site.

Crista, I've found more information from talking to people here than meeting with a nutritionist. Maybe I got the wrong one, or I wasn't quite ready for enlightenment yet; but she made me feel dumb as a stick and expected me to understand the toy food items she made demonstrations with. When carbs and calories were put into real everyday kinds of foods and examples I understood them better. Not everything can be given a meal plan or black and white ink printouts and know what the right thing is to do. Sometimes it helps to talk to others that are learning and trying to accomplish the same thing you are. Just my thoughts, but the people here have been more educational (particularly from an emotional standpoint) than my nutritionist ever was! :-)
