I just ordered a new meter called Embrace and the test strips are very very inexpensive. 12.95 for a box of 50. The meter is new and pretty cool. I ordered 6 boxes of test strips and got the meter for free. 300 strips and a meter for less than a months supply of my old strips.

I went to Overstock thru this site and found strips for 12.99 for 50 strips. I use one touch ultra and these were on sale. you might try there and see whats on sale.

You are so right, the test strips are very, very expensive & there should be some program out there, where we should be able to get them at a discount.

You can also check with your local church or other program that helps people who can't afford them. I know that my mother's church will collect donated medical supplies and give them out the community. They don't ever have a lot, but it is a place to try.

I also use Ebay to purchase my strips. They are much less expensive and so far, I have never had any issues with expired or opened product. It has all been good and I can usually get it for half the cost, even with shipping.

Also, if you go to the shopping tab on this site it will take you to a page where you can shop for supplies. They can offer discounts on things just thru this site, so check that out as well.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I do know that some companies have programs that will give supplies to those who can't afford them. You might try contacting the company who makes the testing strips you use and see if they have any such program. You may hit a brick wall, but it's worth a try. Never hurts to ask.
