I use the accuecheck aviva for free i get it from my military base its what the supply from the hospital

I use the OneTouch Ultra Smart, and I love it…it has the software that I put on my computer and then weekly I down-load my results and then fax them to my Endo.I also have a One touch Mini that I carry in my purse and they both use the same strips.

I use Freestyle Freedom Lite. I like it because I can check other places besides my fingertips (but I always seem to check there anyhow lol) and it uses such a small amount of blood.

Most of the meters you can check other places besides the finger tips now. It depends on the lancet wheteher it can test other places

I liked my Freestyle, too. One of the good things about them is they will upgrade your meter free if you sign up, the paperwork for that is packed with the meter.

I had heard good things about the WaveSense Jazz and wanted to try that one. I had a call from one of the companies that provides testing supplies to diabetics that are on Medicare; I told the caller I wanted to try the WaveSense Jazz and he said they could do that. What I got was a WaveSense Presto. Nice small meter with more bells and whistles than a trolley car. Has soemthing like 6 alarms to remind you to test, takes a very small sample and has been very accurate. I'm not sure I'll stay with it though.

I could get test strips for the Freestyle here in town, those I have to get from elsewhere, which isn't always convenient.

In the interim another company sent me a True Balance. The thing read about 35 points higher than either the Freestyle or the new Presto.

Good luck finding one that works well for you. We all have things we want and things we don't necessarily want in a meter. You'll figure it out.

Wow Vic,Seriously…Bells & Whistles,Alarms…that does sound cool!! My question is what about it makes you say you might not stay with it??Just curious…Sounds like something I would like to try, as it is tough for me to remember when to test…My Bad!!

Just that the strips are not available locally. They might be in Fairbanks but not in Delta.

I've been impressed with a number of things about it. The kit is about 1/2 the size of my previous one, the readings have been accurate (when tested against my other meter and the one at the clinic). I will probably stay with it and remain with the supplier, who does a 3 month supply by mail. Not staying with it was just a passing comment.

I like the One Touch. I used to use a Freestyle and a Sidekick.

I use the Onetuch now with my pump
But I loved my freestyl light
I never had bad strips and it did a good job the one tuch runs at 10% of lot funning bad For me.
