This is not an endousement.
But one of the main caracters was diagnosed last night with Type 2 diabetes.
At first she was in disbelief,
Kinds like me when I was told.
Then doctor asked if she had anyone in the family and she replied that her grandmother had it, but that her grandmother was overweight and she couldnt have it becasue she took good care of herself, exersised, ate right, did all the right things.
Doctor explained that you can do all the right things and still get diabetes.
It was so main streamed that I was glad that this episode aired.
I cant wait till what they show next week.
They made this a prominate part of last nights episode.
If you want to watch this episode, you can go to the website for Lifetime network and get it via streamming.
Let me know what your thoughts are.
I am glad they are bring this to the forefront like this.

Oh, they also touched on testing, They talked about A1C and other testing to find out if somone has diabetes.
What I also liked is they asked her if she was getting tired, urinating alot. Stuff like that. If it makes one person go get tested, I feel it was a sucess of an episode. If nothing else, it might plant a few seeds in a few peoples minds. To be used later. Hopfully.

It is an epidemic in first world countries, for many good reasons. Doubt people will do any research on it for the show (did not watch), but maybe it will make a few people stop at those screening labs they have for the public now and then to get a test?

I liked the way they handled it. Hopefully someone will see it and ask the right questions and go get checked out. This show is well worth watching.
