Hi Shelby, Welcome to this site. I am fairly new to this site and have found it very helpful. I noticed how recently you were diagnosed. You must still be reeling. Hang in there, we are here to listen and help. Wendy

i just do not understand I have been hypo for 20 yrs now and got put in the hospital and told I had pancrititis then they come back and say I have type 1 and I begged them not to put me on shots so they put me on pills and said they will try to manage it with diet and pills I am so confused and you would think that I would be better understanding being as both my grandmother were on shots daily and so are two of my mom's siblings.

Shelby, With pancreatitis there is no going back. I had acute attack out of the blue in 2006, and because of all the damage to pancreas I immediately became diabetic, and have to use insulin. SO....I am so happy that you still get to take pills. I know you may not look at it that way right now. Wendy
