I've been reading some things about vitamin and mineral supplements for Diabetics. Multi-Vitamins and specific things like Chromium.

Does anyone here take special vitamins or supplements?

I take fish oil that is prescribed because its a lot stronger than what you get off the shelf.

I didnt know that you could get a prescription of fish oil. Thanks for that tidbit.

I've been taking fish oil 2 x a day in a soft gel form but I am going to try Carlson's Fish Oil, its supposed to have a touch of lemon and you can't taste any fish taste to it. It's also supposed to be a much cheaper alternative to the prescription fish oil and have enough of the stuff thats good for you to raise your HDL.

I take 2000 mgs of vitamin d, garlic, omega 3's fish oil and cinnamin a day. I also take 1800 mgs of calcium and a multivitamin. my cholesteral is great 123 triglicerides are at 47 good cholesterol is at 68 and bad is at 87. I am vitamin d deficient back to a good range now my last a1c was high due to steroids but once off them it dropped 2 points. hoping to get it back to 6-7 next time they test. The calcium is for an upcoming surgery on my neck helps it heal faster.
