Good Job on the web site... easy to navigate... good to see your creative passion making inroads... inspiring and encouraging... thanks so much for sharing information that supports education about this disease...Bravo! Jocelyn
alwaystryin replied May 15, 2009 4:27 PM Thank you, I cannot begin to tell everyone the effort behind the scenes that has taken place, not only the entire Vision of Mark and Patti transforming into a Global Internet presence, but also dealing as the DC Fam knows, with the 'normal' everyday life of a Diabetic/Caregiver.
alwaystryin replied May 15, 2009 4:31 PM I wanted to also add, that the all inclusive nature of our Base Application running our Communities, is magical in itself! You can do everything we do on the 'net and off, all within our World...Check it out. Music, Pics, Video, Chat, IM, and all in this new World.

And please let me be clear. This is NOT any competition with anyone about anything having to do with DIABETES. And if anything, the Fam here at DC, especially John, IS THE REASON I became so passionate about this Vision.
Jocelyn replied May 15, 2009 5:02 PM You do not come across as competitive... only inclusive and inviting... The more we embrace our dreams and share them with others, the wider our vision becomes... Thanks for the excitement you share in working locally, and thinking globally...
alwaystryin replied May 15, 2009 5:15 PM This is exactly what GDA, forget GDA for a sec(well not really but) the message is. But why are people not understanding?
Jocelyn replied May 15, 2009 5:38 PM It is human nature to deny points that threaten ones frame of reference... facing diabetes squarely is new for the population at large... denial, acceptance, then embracing is the normal process for people... the hard work is in breaking through denial... that is what you are engaged with right now... it is the hardest part of the cycle... once enough people are forced to look at what they don't want to look at... then a phase of acceptance comes into play... and finally, after the worker bees, have done the excavation work, and hauled the message out to the forefront... people will jump on the band wagon, and carry acceptance forward, and foward... it is just how it is with human nature... I hope you won't dispare because you are doing the cultivating of awareness... Others before us have worked harder than we do.. and may be resting so they can again take up the torch... we all have something to share, even it we can applaude from the sidelines... Right now, that's about all I have the energy to do... applaude, but making noise for the cause is important too... so hang in there and when silence is your only response... realize that it is one more brick laid out on the highway to awareness... Being active in your mission is satisfying to you... and may benefit others or not... but it can't hurt to use your voice for change... Don't monitor response... it is never accurate feedback... lots of people are listening who never tell you how much what you do matters... believe enough in what you are doing that it wouldn't matter if no one notices your work... keep on keeping on... joy is contageous... it really is... so if you are enriched in what you do, others will be also... hugs, Jocelyn |

Those of you that Tweet (www.twitter.com) let the world now just how loud the DC Fam can be.

DC Fam,
As the Vision of Mark John and Patti grows, I would like to take this opportunity to extend a personal and special request of all of you.
As the tools of this Vision are utilized to begin this new journey for Diabetic's everywhere, and non-D's as well, I would like to ask anyone and everyone to offer your opinions, ideas, topics you would like to see explored, and any general feedback you may have.
Please visit www.diabeticlifewon.com, and send email to welcometogda@gmail.com.
Help GDA help spread the word...We are not afraid of 'diabetes (IT), IT better be afraid of US!"
Thanks again
