I researched this so called diet and from my experience it's another one in a long list of 'junk' diets. If we all ate real food and less of it and moved our bodies more we wouldn't have to be on a 'diet' in the first place. If this is something that is working for you that's great but personally, I think that all the so called 'diets' should be filed under "G"...
SusanneLynn replied March 17, 2009 4:56 PM Oh on contrare you do eat good foods on this diet you must not be a diet person because for my blood type I should eat grean leafy veggies and certain fruit so I just think in my opinion its just not something for you Take Care and thanks for your input

I use the Blood Type diet along with my GI Index charts for great food choices that are proven to benefit my blood type. I don't believe it is a harmful discipline like some fad diets are... information can serve us in our decision making process. I applied the Blood Type principals and dropped nearly fifty pounds within a few months by eliminating (good foods) that were toxic for my type. The research is based on sound principal, and the author presents the information in a common sense approach. It's not for everyone obviously... that's why we get to choose what personally motivates us. After all it is motivation for change that really works after all... so many choices, so little time... just remember, it's possible to obsess about anything... I personally find it useful and love it as a reference tool... j

I had never heard of this book. I am newly diagnosed and have a horrible time trying to figure out what to eat. I will see if I can find a copy! Thanks for posting! Angie
Jocelyn replied March 17, 2009 12:58 AM Last edited 12 months ago the Blood Type diet was all the rage in the early 90's... you should be able to find copies in used bk stores by now. They have a cook book volume and the regular one that talks about blood types and the history of blood types. It's a fascinating read even if you decide it isn't for you... I like Cultural detective stuff anyway... so it was right up my alley...DNA studies fascinate me too... I get amused by all the theories out there... If you find theories intriguing, and you have a science fiction leaning... you might enjoy reading Zacharia Sitchins Archeological research. based on actual evidence...(take it or leave it) on the theory that humans are decedents, or, clones from Space visitors... Strange as it sounds, it would explain a lot about the human conditions, lol As you've probably guessed by now, I have a BIG imagination, but it keeps me entertained...j

I have to agree with other who place this diet in the category of "junk diets." However, any diet plan that focusses on eating less manufactured foods and concentrates on selecting wholesome foods in moderate portions, no matter what our blood type is, is better than nothing.
rbergman replied March 17, 2009 4:06 AM I agree with you Pauline, "junk diets" and "fad diets" are just that, they come they go but the one constant is NOT eating chemically altered or enhanced foods and stick to the basics...with the occasional chocolate tossed in now and again.
Pauline B replied March 17, 2009 7:49 PM Yes to the Chocolate and to a good jigger of Irish or Scotch on St Patrick's Day! Good food in moderation-- with good friends and humor!!!

I looked at the site http://www.4yourtype.com/ last night and didn't find any answers other than stuff to buy so went Googling, and finally found some answers. But before Ic ame to information about the Blood type diet there were several criticisms from "reliable sources" about the diets. As a nutritionist who belives in the science I'll stick to what I've found that works.

Alene Weed replied March 24, 2009 6:24 PM For all of you 'naysayers' out there -- take a look at the website and you will see that it really is a healthy diet to follow your blood type. And Suzanne, if you are going to use French terms, please learn to spell them correctly! au contraire!!
SusanneLynn replied April 4, 2009 4:29 PM Last edited 11 months ago Everyone has a right to their own opinion so I thank you for yours. Just for your information my name is spelled Susanne if it was french then it would be spelled with a (z). Have a nice day!!! |
When you get a chance pick up a book called "The Blood Type Diet" depending on your blood type helps with controlling blood sugar because you eat things that are good for your type.
