I take Niacin SR to lower my triglycerides and raise HDL along with exercise. Lowering the LDL comes from exercise and I take a statin drug. Garlic pills helps some if it's not too high. |

I also take 250 TR niacin and a statin to help with my cholesterol. I also take fish oil (omega 3) and red yeast rice. It is funny, because when I didn't eat right my cholesterol was great. Now that I eat more fish, exercise 5 days a week and eath MUCH healthier...my levels went up. Thanks diabetes! LOL

There is a simple way to lower your LDL and raise your HDL, but most people don't want to hear the answer: EXERCISE!!!!!
Debe Pendice replied February 26, 2009 7:58 AM I agree, but now I am wheelchair bound and I do the exercises I can. But I need to do more and I am doing physical therapy to strenghten my muscle mass. I feel once I do get more muscle mass and stronger maybe I can get off my zocor. I never had a problem before....Debe |
