No problems that I would associate to the GD.

Child no. 1 is 11 smart has some allergies and I was on incline for 20 weeks with him.

Child no. 2 is 7 he does have an LD but I think it is neurological in orgian and nothing to do with the GD. I was on incline with him for 28 weeks.

I am now type 2 and with the strong family history I am teaching the boys to eat healthy (dosen't necessarly work).

My son is now 10. He weighed 5-12 at birth, however he was 4 weeks earlier. He has had a great deal of health problems, (asthma). I was concerned with the diabetes passing to him. His ped said that he was at a high risk, later in life to have diabetes. His asthma problems could be from the early arrival.

I know this is a late response ..but ..
I thought it could help.. i had gestational with my 2nd preg. in 1998. and my son weighed 10lbs 4oz and 3weeks early(but big babies were on his dads side too)
However,I was ill before my 3rd pregnancy yet didnt know why, until my 2nd month of pregnancy, I was persistant w/doctors and thank god I was!! After insisting on a new set of tests I recieved a call from the ER and doctors telling me to get to the Hospital right then, not to drive or wait, but get there!
I was admitted w/ketacodosis.. and other related problems..and my concern was my unborn baby... they monitiored her as well throughout the pregnancy I went to many of specialists..and given multitude of tests, my sugars were up and down..but as I got to the end months of preg. my health got worse and at one point a doctor suggested abortion..to save my life.
Thank God I declined..
In May 06' doctors said it was time to induce..my due date was 25th however my body couldnt wait..the diabetes made so much extra amniotic fluid among other health risks to wait..
My daughter was delivered by emergency c-section..and taken to icu.
She was given aalot of tests. her sugar level was low, and wouldnt rise..she stayed there for a week. Then they got her sugars stable..and told me the other news..She was totally deaf in her right ear and unknown what percentage in the left..but still remains my little miracle..now 3yrs old we are ready to start pre-k at the school for the deaf and hard of hearing, and learning sign language..no other health problems. Doctorssuggest that the diabetes and high sugars caused the deafness, but theres no way to say 100%..
