My brother lays down all day, and does not even offer to help, or ask me how I feel. If I need anything when he does go to store. But he sure expects a lot from me, wash done, cooking done, food in the house etc. Just like I was his mother, instead of his sister. Sadd

LadyDi replied January 14, 2009 11:47 PM

You're experiencing something that many people unfortunately find to be a problem. I have many thoughts about it, but they might be too lengthy and inappropriate for this sight. My suggestion would be to pray about it reguarly and to counsel with your minister or another believer that seems better able to witness. For some it comes easy, but, because we are all so different and at varying places in our walk with Christ, for others it is definitely something to work on and attain. Remember that it doesn't take any special speaking ability, just the ability to relate what you feel straight from your heart. Flowery speech is not what is needed. The way we live our lives in front of others is really the best witness of all.

While walking along the sidewalk in front of his church, our minister heard
the intoning of a prayer that nearly made
his collar wilt. Apparently, his 5-year-old son and his playmates had found a dead robin. Feeling that proper burial
should be performed, they had secured a small box and cotton batting, then dug a hole and made ready for the disposal of
the deceased.

The minister's son was chosen to say the appropriate prayers and with sonorous dignity intoned his version of
what he thought his father always said: 'Glory be unto the Faaather, and unto the Sonnn, and into the hole he
goooes.' (I want this line used at my funeral!)

For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again; this charge I have received from my Father.

-John 10:17-18

"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

This is astounding; these have been my thoughts about the people who receive for nothing, and, basically, the people who work hard to receive nothing.

There comes a point in your life when you realize:
who matters,
who never did,
who won't anymore...
and who always will. YOU DO!!!!!
So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they
didn't make it to your future.

'Be kinder than necessary
because everyone you meet is fighting
some kind of battle.
