Happy Valentine's Day DC

I too would like to wish everyone a Happy Valentines Day and a Happy every day. We can cherish the past, hope for the future and live in the present. Let's make each day our best day ever and remember only we can determine for ourselves what makes it a great day …take care my friends. Hugs to everyone.

I am remembering those too few days I had with my "Jem". In fact I am having difficulty "getting over" just how wonderful our days together had been.

It is affecting some potential relationships now too. I have had a lady tell me that I am too obsessed with Jem, that she cannot hope to match my memory of her. I will definately admit that I can be obsessed with Jem.

So I wish everyone here on DC a happy valentines day. Or as happy as you can be under your present circumstances.

Once you have been good and loved, you can never go back. It's good to cherish those memories, but it's also good to be open to be loved again. Feel loved Jayabee!

thank you Kate! I feel I DO have a LOT of love to give and want to be loved in return. THIS VD is better than those of 2002 -2007 as I was freshly divorced and my VD color was black! Jem had given me back my valentines day.

Thanks Jayabee, I have a friend who calls today "Singles Awareness Day" LOL. Whatever our situation we are all very aware of our relationship status today… I can feel the love you have to give and so will others. And you certainly deserve to be loved in return. You're on the right track- No More Black! =)

I can imagine. To hear you talk about her, it sounds like your Jem was one special lady and the time you shared together impacted your heart and soul deeply. It may just be a matter of reassuring your new lady friend that you're not looking for her to be like Jem because I get the feeling that would be an impossible feat.

I know that intellectually that I should not expect any new lady to be Jem revived, the trouble I have is getting my heart to go along with my mind.

I think I just scared another lady off just last night, as I was up front with her about my "medical challenges". Maybe too upfront for this stage in the "dance" Perhaps I am subconsciously sabotaging budding relationships. It just seemed SO easy with Jem.

We did have our little misunderstanding and spats, and I had to remember her past relationships and not freak out when she was making noises like we should break up.

Fortunately, the first time she did that I kept her talking a while till she admitted that she did love me. She had been jilted by 3 men and had the subconscious belief that any man would do it to her. I told her that "You don't get off that easily, sweetcheeks! You're gonna have to tell me that you don't love me, and get me to believe it, and THEN, maybe I'll go away. Until that happens you're STUCK with me." She was glad to hear that. So was I. She tried it again a couple other times, and my usual first reply to that was "You don't get off that easily!" Usually that nipped it in the bud for a while.

However most of our courtship seemed so easy.

I haven't felt the same kind of comfort since. Of course my view of the whole courtship with Jem is colored by the fact it was a success and so obscures much of the nervousness of the actual courtship.

As mentioned in Dr. Gary's recent discussion. That rear view mirror has a knack for changing every time we use it. You'll find love again James because you deserve it. And it will be a special love, just in a different way.

Awwww Patricia! I consider you one of my best friends (sisters?) here and my life is enriched by everyone Ive met at DC! This is the most FANTASTIC group of people anyone could ask for! I love all of you! Happy Valentines Day!!
