Like "I am also uninsured and my family unit (3 generations) makes too much collectively for me to receive any aid from the government (which is actually quite fine with me, don't get me started) Anyway, I found a clinic in a near by town that charges on a sliding scale. For me that was a life saver. It only costs me $13 for a lab test and about $10 for my office visits. I was going every 3 months, but the doctor is very happy with my progress and he has changed it to every 6 months. I found this clinic by contacting my local hospital and asking about their "free care" program. They gave me the clinic number and I have been going since. It is not as nice as when I went to my doctor when I had insurance, but the doctor is good and that is all that matters to me."
