Like "Hi there, It's not so much the needle, as the reality of the progression of the disease that gets me. I can handle the needle pokes, that's no problem. I just equate injections with further progression of the disease, and frankly, that scares the hell out of me! It might be irrational, but I watched my mom deteriorate, and she was insulin dependant.
