Like "Just my 2 cents. You will spike after a meal no matter what, and each of us recovers from those spikes differently depending on our energy needs. How are you two hours after? Four hours after? You need nutrition, and that spike is evidence it’s getting into the bloodstream. As Haoleboy suggest though, you do get more nutritional bang for the buck with proteins (although you do need some carbs too). Mine is usually one egg and a thin slice of low-sodium ham on a Mission “Street taco” flour tortilla. That usually comes in under 20 carbs, tastes better than the nasty diabetic cereal, and doesn’t seem to cause much of a spike."
