Like "Great job on the A1c and weight loss!!! I think the once a diabetic, always a diabetic is true. 5.4 is a pre-diabetic range and it will certainly stay there if you continue your current path. But not having diabetes means you can eat a couple of donuts and your blood sugar likely won't go higher than 120. My a1c is 5.5. My weight is 112. But today I ate six donut holes and a glass of milk. With an hour and a half my BG was 215. I'll always have diabetes. Keep up the great work and lose those last few pounds, but don't be fooled into thinking you're not diabetic. If you think that, it's easy to creep into a "normal" way of eating. It just won't work for us. "
