Like "Nope! Never dumb...just a complicated disease. What you might want to read up on is "Dawn Phenomenon". That is what many of us have who suffer high morning reads. Myself included. A carb snack with some protein or fat (apple with peanutbutter, cracker with cheese) can help. I have yet to find the magic combination...I still have high AM readings. It is a tough one. The thing I found that works best is an Extend bar or a Glucerna Bar a bit before bed. I am also now experimenting with taking my metformin with that snack instead of dinner to see if it helps. "
