Like "I eat an apple with peanut butter nearly every day for lunch. Apples vary greatly in size and can range from maybe 23 grams of carb to nearly 40 grams of carb depending upon how big it is. I've been using a Digital nutrition scale to weigh my apples. When you input the code for raw apples and weigh it, the scale will tell you the nutritional values, including calories and carbs. It's an essential tool for me. Mine came from Target many years ago but it can be purchased on-line through Amazon and maybe other outlets as well. Here's the link to the one I use which is sold on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Kitrics-Digital-Nutrition-Scale-Silver/dp/B000U67EI0. It comes with a booklet listing many many foods and their codes. I'd be lost without it. I, personally don't deduct the fiber grams when I input the carb grams into my pump for my bolus insulin."
