Like "Oat bran is just the bran of the oat grain without the starch, it is a fiber so it doesn't count as a carb. I use it by the 50 lb bag in almost everything except the cheese cake. Some people cook it like oatmeal. It would be like wheat bran but from the oat grain. The higher the fiber content in the food the lower the carb count. Steel cut oats is cut instead of rolled. Rolled oats have the starch exposed so it digest easier than steel cut. The tighter the grain is bound the less it raises blood sugar."
