Like "The truth is that it may vary by individual. (Probably not what you want to hear!) I find I can eat a portion of most berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries) without much elevation in my blood glucose. I do eat an apple with peanut butter nearly every day for lunch but weigh my apple on a special scale that tells me how many carbs are in it...apples can vary greatly in size and weight. I then take the appropriate bolus insulin for the carbs I'm eating. I find I need to avoid most citrus, pineapple, mangos and bananas. Raisins and dried fruit are definitely off limits due to the concentrated sugar content. Become aware of the portion sizes and carb content of individual fruit (or any food, really), then, 2 hours after eating some, test to see how it affects YOU. What may be bad for me may not affect you as badly."
