Like "When my BG drops to dangerous levels, I tend to get obstinate and argumentative, insisting that I'm OK when I'm not. I recall that scene in the movie "Steel Magnolias" when the diabetic character played by Julia Roberts experienced a low BG episode...I think while she was in the beauty salon...and she got crazy/combatative. It affects each of us differently but, there is truly an effect. It's also why those around you should be aware that you have diabetes. I'm sorry that your relationships and friends have suffered because of it. Are you achieving better BG control, or do they still often recur? I've had many fewer low episodes since starting on my insulin pump over a year ago. I finally went to a pump after the MDI (multiple daily injections) were causing me ever increasing scary low BG's. "
