Like "Glad to hear you are working towards getting back on track. A diet specialist told me one time never to go under 1200 calories per day when dieting. I find that if you follow the Diabetic plate diet you will limit not only your calories by watching the portions, but also your carb intake. Half a plate of veggies, (I don't eat corn or snow peas), and your 1/4 lean protein, and a small portion of carbs like 1/2 to 1 cup berries, I am able to eat whole wheat bread I like natures own with only 10 g per slice.
