Like "I think a challenge is good for us and helps us achieve when we otherwise might not. To do it just to be obstinate, etc., would not be productive, but I think most of us see these type situations as motivation, which is great. I often think about children growing up in troubled, dysfunctional homes (alcholic parents, physical and mental abuse, etc.), and the fact that the adults they become is so influenced by that situation. For some the pattern just continues as they grow up or they give up and never try to better themselves, but for others it is incentive to get out of the situation and be certain that they never let that happen to their own families. The want to make sure that they don't perpetuate the bad experience. It's always great when we can turn a negative into a positive!"
