Like "I've been type 2 for over 13 years, and I'm still learning...LOL Don't try to change your life all at once, just make small changes. As those changes get easier, add some more. I was not strong enough to give up everything I liked all at once, so I paid more attention to portion sizes. Now, I eat 5 or 6 small meals a day, and that seems to be the key for me. Some ways to guess portion sizes; 1 1/2 ounce cheese = 3 dominoes, 3 ounces meat = a deck of cards, one medium potato = computer mouse, and 1/2 cup veggies = lightbulb. Hope this helps. John"
