Eating a fast acting carb (not a candy bar or a cookie) immediately is the key...but it is so hard to stop eating and wait the 15 minutes to test again because we feel so awful when low. I use glucose tabs (3) or a glucose gel or liquid that comes in 15g containers. I really dislike the taste of these fast-acting carbs so I'm not tempted to have more than the 15 grams at a time."
