Like "It really is all about balance. It's serious but fighting it can cause as much trouble as ignoring it. A good way to deal with it is to work out a manageable plan of diet, exercise and faithfully testing and taking your meds. Allow yourself some leeway and attempt to develop a routine. Diabetes doesn't play fair; you can do everything right and still have high numbers. If you stress the numbers may stay high. I look for trends and try to adjust my program to get back on track. I lost 2 friends a few weeks ago so I wasn't surprised that my numbers were off. Allowing for the added stress I felt my normal routine was adequate and now they are gradually returning to normal levels. It doesn't matter what meds you are on they are merely tools. The important thing is to do what it takes. Always remember to be kind to yourself."
