Like "Howdy Lisa! WELCOME to DiabeticConnect! Sorry you qualify for this "little party" but since you do I am glad you are here. You can also make some hard boiled eggs. they are full of good protein and have some other good nutrition features too. And eggs have gotten a bad rap from some quarters because of Cholesterol but eating cholesterol does not raise one's cholesterol. Certain types of carbs do. Please read this article here ~ http://www.cholesterol-and-health.com/Egg_Yolk.html ~ Hard boiled eggs also have another advantage, you have to peel them out of their shells so that might slow down your eating them (unless you buy and use those "eggies" that are sold on TV) I eat at least 2 eggs a day for breakfast. I don't spend much time watching TV. (I do spend most of my time on DC) but if I did I'd probably eat some hard boiled eggs as a snack. BTW: if you have your blood glucose (BG) levels well contolled it is OK to have a square of dark chocolate from time to time. It keeps me from feeling deprived and going hog-wild on stuff which is not good for me. Blessings to you and yours James Baker"
