Like "Howdy Lisa! WELCOME to Diabeticconnect! I guess you also have diabetes but since your profile is blank as far as your health interests are concerned. People with diabetes (PWDs) often have heart problems. My late bride "Jem" had congestive heart failure and she was told she needed a pacemaker, but she was refused because if it failed, (according to her Cardio Dr) she would die. (she eventually died anyway). How do you live with it? Thankfully -- that it was available to you and it could be safely implanted. Red flower lady also had some great suggestions too, and I won't steal her thunder by repeating them. (KUDOS Red!) since you seem to be very new here I wonder if you know about DC's sister site Heart Connect? I haven't been there myself, but if it is anything like DC there will be a lot of friendly people who live with heart problems every day, and can give you heartfelt love and some down to earth information about living with the condition. To find Heart connect go to the black band at the top and mouseover the words "visit another community" a box will drop down. Select "heart" and sign in using your log in info from DC. Of course Please come back here too. Blessings to you and yours James "
