Try a small bite of between one or four items that tempt you on the menu I mean a small bite of a tablespoon or two at most. Then drink plenty of water or sugar free beverage not the alcoholic beverages as this may drop your sugar and that isn't a good situation. By the time you have mingled with friends and family and the small tidbits of morsels you will be full of food, friends and especially the family that you love."
